MTSG Masquerade Ball 2010 - Pictures
03/12/2010
On a cold winter's night in December, the Palace Hotel played host once again to undoubtedly one of the hottest social events of the legal calendar, the MTSG Winter Ball.
The ball has long enjoyed a reputation of glitz, glamour and sophistication and with the added intrigue of a masquerade event, this year was no exception. The proceedings began with the traditional champagne, bucks fizz reception before guests were invited ‘sous terre' taking their seats in the vast candle lit ballroom. The four course meal was relatively well behaved... apart from the incident on the Re Legal table involving a fully laden gravy boat. Suffice it to say that all proceeds went to charity!
That said, the writer feels compelled to voice his disappointment over the tombola which (it has been alleged) fell victim to one of the worst cases of raffle rigging in MTSG history! Given the conspiracies surrounding the recent failed England World Cup bid, it is sobering that even something as innocent as the raffle could be tainted by similar accusations of corruption. BBC's Panorama will surely be looking into the matter.
Happily, the rest of the evening proved to be one of the most enjoyable yet. Special mention should be made of Adam Zdravkovic, whose dancing was quite simply electric! Thanks also go to Emily Prinn, it was her creative genius which lay behind the Re Legal ‘Rod' masks which, if the photographs are anything to go by, made the handsome image of our Leader ubiquitous throughout the night.
Many thanks to everyone for making the MTSG Ball a real success. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. But for those whose alcohol-addled brains struggle to recall anything within the last 24 hours, please do feel free to refresh your memories with our gallery of photographic evidence!
Due to numerous requests, should you wish to receive your very own 'Rod', please contact Emily Prinn.
