Football Victory for Team Re Legal
24/08/2009
Twenty two hopeful football teams turned out over the summer to battle for cup final success in the George Davis charity football tournament. The five-a-side event took place at Ardwick football pitches and was in aid of The Mustard Tree, a Manchester-based charity that helps to improve and rebuild the lives of the homeless.
Re Legal recruitment consultants Rod Ellis, James Jones and ‘Brazilian Tez' Terry Cape teamed up with Charlie Yates and David Easdown, corporate solicitors from George Davies LLP, to form a dream team.
The group stage saw the boys knock down the competition, winning three games, drawing the fourth and scoring 16 goals across a total of four matches. This promising start meant that the Re Legal team finished top of the group and the team powered through into the next stage.
Re Legal recruitment team emerge triumphant
The quarter final saw Re Legal face the Securitas team, a match they won convincingly 2-0. The semi-final brought the Re Legal team face to face with last year's winners, Kings Chambers, in what promised to be a formidable fixture. The KC team, however, did nothing to stop Re Legal's momentum and the boys managed to put away four goals to the opposition's sole effort.
In the final, the Re Legal recruitment team faced tough opposition from BDO Stoy Hayward - but the result was a similar story for Re Legal with the lads winning 3-1 and emerging victorious in a dominant display to clinch the trophy.
