Rod is an established and senior figure in the legal recruitment market in the North. He established Re Legal in 2007 and has extensive experience recruiting for both in-house counsel and private practice in the North, particularly at the senior levels of the law profession.
Rod qualified as a solicitor with Cobbetts in Manchester in 1993 and following 3 years as a solicitor, he was recruited to start up the legal recruitment team of Hudson in Manchester. After 4 successful years in Manchester recruiting at all levels for solicitors in private practice and industry, Rod was recruited by ZMB ( Hays Legal ) to launch their brand in Australia and New Zealand.
Whilst in Australia, Rod successfully opened offices for ZMB in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland and concentrated personally on recruitment of lawyers and banking professionals into Financial Services Institutions in Sydney. His clients included major law firms such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and banks and financial institutions such as Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, NM Rothschild, Citigroup and HSBC as well as more diverse institutions such as Mercer and AON. Rod is an ex professional rugby union player for Manchester Rugby Club and is interested in a wide variety of sports. He is a Manchester United fan.
